Kankakee 24-Hour Release Status
No distinct official Kankakee County 24-hour released-person feed was found during research on July 16, 2026. The Sheriff inmate-search page describes a search for people in local custody. Its linked Tyler system supplies current booking data, not a verified list of everyone discharged today. Searches during the research sweep returned records marked “In Custody: Yes,” even when that filter was cleared. The result is useful for a current booking, but it cannot be relabeled as a same-day release list.
A true release list would require a completed discharge or transfer event. Kankakee records distinguish an actual Release Date from a Scheduled Release Date. The latter is prospective and may change. A person can also leave Jerome Combs Detention Center for IDOC, another county, USMS, or another agency. That is a transfer, not proof of return to the community.
Check Kankakee Same-Day Releases
The strongest same-day check uses five distinct channels. Each answers a different question. The roster shows present county custody, VINE relays participating-agency events, the court file explains legal authority, the Sheriff can address current physical custody, and a written record preserves the completed event. A current “In Custody: Yes” result supports present local custody at retrieval time. A missing result does not prove the opposite. Another-county, federal, and immigration movements require the receiving system.

The app and Sheriff social accounts can supplement agency news. They do not replace the custody record or create a Kankakee County 24-hour release list.
Kankakee Same-Day Release Evidence
Conflicting timestamps should be reconciled by agency role. The Sheriff’s completed discharge or transfer field ordinarily outranks an earlier projection for the fact of physical exit. A filed court order explains the legal basis. VINE supplies notice, but may repeat the Sheriff or court feed rather than act as an independent source. Record each retrieval date and exact label.
If a name vanished overnight, search Tyler with a saved booking number, review the VINE event wording, and open the court docket.
