The Illinois Attorney General describes feeds from county jail booking systems, IDOC, Illinois DHS, and circuit clerks statewide. A transfer alert is affirmative evidence that the original custodian changed. It is not proof of community release. Follow the destination named in the message. For IDOC, check the state profile. For another county, contact that sheriff. Federal movement requires the federal docket or the appropriate federal custodian.
Register Kankakee Release Alerts

Confirm Kankakee VINELink Alerts
VINELink can lag because it depends on agency feeds. It does not replace a completed Sheriff discharge or transfer record. For Kankakee County physical custody, call Corrections at 815-802-7200 or use the Sheriff’s focused FOIA process. For a state commitment, use the IDOC offender search and read overall status, Parole Date, and Projected Discharge Date according to their labels.
A BOP record marked RELEASED concerns BOP custody. A person once housed locally under federal authority may have moved without a county community release. Immigration custody has its own locator and limited recent-release coverage. Use the agency that held legal authority at the event being checked.
Kankakee PRB Notification Layer
Illinois also provides a separate Prisoner Review Board notification registration. Its program can provide covered custody-change notice and a current photograph upon release for eligible registrants, including a concerned citizen. PRB registration does not replace the county-jail VINE feed. It serves a different state review and notification role. Likewise, a PRB hearing result does not prove that prison release was physically executed. Check the IDOC profile for the actual Parole Date and current overall status.
Correct Kankakee Release Data
Send a correction to the agency that owns the field. The Sheriff controls its booking and custody record. The Circuit Clerk controls docket and judgment entries. IDOC controls commitment calculations and profile fields. VINELink is a downstream notification service, so it cannot rewrite the originator’s record.
Gather the booked name, safe identifiers, booking or subject number, approximate dates, docket, and evidence of the correct event. Ask the originating agency to review the field, then allow time for a downstream feed to refresh. A record correction is distinct from a court sealing or expungement request.
Read Kankakee VINE Events
Release, transfer, escape, and court events carry different meanings. A release alert can report that the named custodian ended custody, but direct confirmation is still needed when exact time and authority matter. A transfer means the person moved to another custodian. Escape is not release. A court event can change the legal basis without proving jail processing is complete.
When VINE announces transfer, use any destination or agency in the message. Search IDOC after a state intake, the receiving sheriff after another-county movement, or the federal docket after USMS movement. If the alert supplies no destination, ask Kankakee Sheriff Corrections whether the booking ended by discharge or transfer.
A missing completed record has limited meaning because official sources do not state how long released Kankakee results remain visible. Preserve alerts and identifiers when received. The originating custody record is the durable confirmation path.
Kankakee VINE and IDOC
VINE notification and the IDOC profile serve different jobs. VINE can notify a registrant about a supplied event. IDOC shows the public state commitment record for a person admitted to prison. A county detainee released without an IDOC commitment ordinarily will not gain an IDOC profile merely because of a Kankakee booking.
On a verified IDOC parole profile, Offender Status “PAROLE,” a parole-district location, and a Parole Date support prison release to supervision. Projected Discharge Date concerns the expected later end of the commitment. Read all sentence counts because one discharged count does not prove the overall commitment ended.
Use VINE to learn of an event and IDOC to interpret state status. Use the Sheriff record for the earlier Kankakee transfer to IDOC. That separation prevents a state prison date from being mistaken for a county jail release date.
Kankakee Court Notification Checks
Because Illinois VINE also receives circuit-clerk data, a Kankakee search may expose court context as well as custody context. Compare the docket and contributing agency.
